Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Administrator to join the nVCC Digital Workstream at the Felindre Cancer Centre, supporting a major digital transformation across Southeast Wales.

Velindre Cancer Centre (VCC) is a core service of the Trust, and one of the leading non-invasive oncology centres in the UK.

VCC is progressing towards the opening of the new Velindre Cancer Centre (nVCC), which will transform cancer services in South East Wales.

The nVCC has an ambition to be a digitally advanced and enabled hospital, laying the digital foundations for secure record management across the patient pathway, with a longer-term vision for a fully digital hospital. This includes delivering high-quality, safe and sustainable models of care supported by modern digital services.

The planning and delivery of digital and change work programmes, including prioritisation, monitoring progress and managing risk, will be co-ordinated through a programme management approach supporting the nVCC Digital Workstream and associated projects. The Trust is fully committed to the delivery of the objectives of the Future Generations Act and its seven Wellbeing Goals. The nVCC programme will be aligned to these goals and all objectives and benefits will be mapped to record, assess and promote achievements against them

Main duties of the job

Under the direction of the Project Manager, the Project Administrator will be responsible for ensuring the effective co-ordination of thenVCC Digital Workstream and associated projects.

The post holder will provide support and day-to-day monitoring, facilitating the successful planning and delivery of digital projects, ensuring outcomes are delivered to required quality, time and cost constraints.

Importantly this will include administration of the project files and to help ensure that projects remain on track to produce the required outcomes, to the required standard of quality and within the specified constraints of time and cost.

The Project Administrator will play a crucial role supporting and providing high quality organisational, project administration to the Project Manager and wider nVCC Digital Workstream.

The role will provide high quality organisational and project administration support to the Project Manager and wider programme team, supporting delivery of digital projects for the new Velindre Cancer Centre.

Provide comprehensive administrative and coordination support to the nVCC Digital Workstream ensuring communication and project delivery across multiple workstreams.

Qualifications and Knowledge

Essential
  • Educated to Diploma Level in relevant subject or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • Knowledge of change or project management methodologies
  • Advanced IT skills across Microsoft Office and project management tools, with equivalent practical knowledge and experience.
Desirable
  • PRINCE2 or equivalent (or willingness to work towards)
  • Knowledge of WPAS Welsh Patient Administration System
  • Knowledge of WCP Welsh Clinical Portal
  • Knowledge of the NHS Wales Data Dictionary
  • Knowledge of Electronic Document Management Solutions

Experience

Essential
  • Demonstrable experience in an administrative role
  • Experience preparing reports and analysing information
  • Experience of office procedures in a busy environment
  • Experience in minute taking
  • Knowledge of Data Protection/Confidentiality
  • Excellent knowledge of the full range of data quality, activity management, governance, standards and procedures
Desirable
