Part‐Time AI Engineer – Business Automation & Workflow Optimisation
Part‐Time AI Engineer – Business Automation & Workflow Optimisation
We’re looking for a hands‐on AI Engineer to help us build smart automation across the business. This is a part‐time contract role for someone who enjoys getting stuck in, building practical solutions, and using AI to solve real problems rather than theory or experimentation for its own sake. You’ll work closely with the team to understand what the business actually needs and turn those needs into simple, scalable automated workflows.
You’ll be responsible for designing, building and rolling out automated systems using modern AI and machine learning tools. A big part of the role is finding ways to streamline internal processes, plug AI into the tools we already use, and quickly test and improve ideas based on real feedback. We care about things working properly in the real world, so reliability, security and clear documentation are important.
We’re looking for someone with solid experience as an AI Engineer, Machine Learning Engineer, or in a similar hands‐on role. You should be comfortable working with large language models and AI APIs, confident writing Python, and familiar with integrating systems through APIs.
Experience building automated workflows, whether through off‐the‐shelf tools or custom pipelines, is important. You’ll need to be able to work independently, take ownership of what you build, and explain things clearly to non‐technical people.
Experience with cloud platforms, vector databases, retrieval‐augmented generation, or production AI systems is a bonus, but not essential. In return, we offer flexible working, a day rate of around £300, a remote‐friendly setup, and the chance to make a visible impact through the work you do. There’s also strong potential for ongoing work as our use of AI continues to grow.
To apply, please send a short overview of your experience, any relevant project examples, and your availability.
