Learning Coordinator

Venesky Brown Recruitment are seeking an Organisational Learning Coordinator to join the Performance Improvement Team at Sizewell C in Suffolk. This long-term contract role (day rate) will be based in Suffolk, with hybrid working available (1-2 days/week in the office).

Job Purpose / Overview:

Reporting to the SZC Organisational Learning Lead the post-holder will be responsible for the implementation, user support and continual development of the Learning and Continuous Performance Improvement arrangements, particularly the “Insight” organisational learning tool.

The post-holder will be part of the SZC Performance Improvement team responsible for the deployment and ongoing development of the Organisational Learning process with particular emphasis on Performance Improvement and establishing site arrangements.

Contextual Information:

  • The SZC Organisational Learning Co-ordinator will be part of a team and will provide support for learning & continuous improvement within the work programme, particularly in the management of the “Insight” reporting tool.
  • Provide support for regulatory interfaces as required, with the Office for Nuclear Regulation, HSE, Environment Agency etc.
  • Promote and deliver improvement activities for Organisational Learning and driving Continuous Performance Improvement within the SZC Project.
  • Develop and deliver Organisational Learning training to ensure appropriate training and development is in place for all site personnel.
  • Post-holder will be required to develop a wide network and establish working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure learning is shared effectively and efficiently.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • The management of the information from the project (and externally) to enable capture and dissemination of potential learning and improvement opportunities using the “Insight” tool.
  • Provide support to the Performance Improvement manager to ensure compliance with Site Licence Condition 7 – Incidents on Site.
  • Helping promote improvement activities for Organisational Learning, Continuous Performance Improvement and Culture within the Project.
  • Undertake assurance activities to ensure the health of the Organisational Learning Systems or as otherwise required.
  • Use and interpret data analysis tools, write trend reports, identify recommendation/actions for the project management team.
  • Support access and use of the Insight tool and facilitate action management.
  • Support the coordination of benchmarking activities to ensure learning is captured and actioned.
  • Provide support for the project governance mechanisms ensuring all preparation requirements are met and meeting outputs managed and processed.
  • Provide connectivity and be the conduit for Organisational Learning activities to other parts of the business and external locations as required.
  • Facilitate access to evidence for accreditation purposes.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, Experience:

  • Competent with using IT applications and databases.
  • Understanding of trending, analysing complex information and presenting actionable insights.
  • Understanding of the value of organisational learning.
  • Proven ability to learn new tasks.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and written skills, coupled with attention to detail.
  • Experience of working in a high hazard industry.
  • Works with enthusiasm and energy and can engage with people at all levels of the organisation.
  • Ability to develop and deliver training activities.
  • Ability to work efficiently as an individual and part of a team, collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience in Organisational Learning, knowledge management or Continuous Improvement within Nuclear, Engineering or Construction Projects.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience – advantageous.
  • Trained Investigator – advantageous.
  • Experience of different aspects of the EDF Energy organisation – advantageous.
  • Working knowledge of event investigation mechanisms - advantageous.
  • Understanding of Human Factors - advantageous.
  • Auditing – advantageous.
