Business Process Analyst

We are seeking an experienced Business Process Analyst to support a significant transformation programme focused on modernising services, improving operational efficiency and implementing new business systems across the organisation.

Working closely with stakeholders across multiple service areas, you will be responsible for analysing current processes, identifying opportunities for improvement and designing future-state solutions that deliver measurable benefits. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a large-scale change programme while helping shape efficient, user-focused services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the analysis and documentation of existing business processes across a variety of service areas
  • Facilitate workshops with stakeholders and end users to identify service gaps, challenges and opportunities
  • Create current and future-state process maps and service journeys
  • Gather, analyse and document business, process and user requirements
  • Support system implementation projects through effective business analysis and stakeholder engagement
  • Coordinate and manage User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test planning, defect management and sign-off
  • Work with technical teams to identify and document data requirements
  • Monitor and report on expected benefits, efficiencies and service improvements
  • Support evidence-based decision making through data analysis and reporting
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships and support organisational change initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with GDPR, information governance requirements and internal policies

About You

We're keen to speak with candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Significant Business Analysis or Business Process Analysis experience
  • Proven experience supporting service improvement, transformation or systems implementation projects
  • Strong business process mapping experience
  • Experience gathering and documenting business and user requirements
  • Experience managing or supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • High levels of organisation, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently whilst managing multiple priorities

Desirable Experience

  • Experience within Local Government, NHS, Central Government or the wider public sector
  • Service Design or Change Management experience
  • Knowledge of HR and Payroll processes
  • User research experience
  • iTrent system experience
  • Relevant Business Analysis qualifications

Qualifications

  • Degree-level education or equivalent professional experience within Business Analysis, Systems Management or a related discipline
  • Relevant Business Analysis certification would be advantageous
