Cloud Architect
A Local Authority requires an interim Azure Solutions Architect to help ensure effective delivery of critical statutory services on a resilient cloud platform. The role involves defining the core platform foundation and the necessary integration layers required to ensure data flow is reliable, governed, and consistent.
Key strategic objectives include:
- Zero Trust Architecture: Design and enforce Zero Trust principles across all connectivity, networking, identity, and application access layers
- Policy-Driven Governance: Deploy Azure Policy and Azure Blueprint initiatives that automate regulatory compliance checks and remediate non-compliance
- Platform Maturity: Design, document, and oversee the deployment of the Azure Landing Zone (ALZ), ensuring strict adherence to the eight design areas defined by the Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF): Azure billing and Microsoft Entra tenant, identity and access management, management group and subscription organisation, network topology and connectivity, security, management, governance, and platform automation
Required Experience:
- Essential Qualifications: Microsoft Certified - Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305)
- Significant experience in Cloud Architecture, and hands on experience in a strategic role focused on defining and implementing enterprise-scale Azure Solutions architecture
- Proven experience in defining, deploying, and maintaining architectural controls to meet specific UK public sector standards (NCSC guidance, implementation of UK OFFICIAL controls) within a complex, multi-domain environment
- Additional Desirable Qualifications: Microsoft Certified - DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ-400)

£700–£850 per day (Inside IR35)
