Data Support Officer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Data Support Officer to join a well-established School on a temporary basis. This role will be responsible for the management, maintenance and analysis of student performance, assessment and admissions data, ensuring accurate reporting and effective use of the school's management information systems to support operational and strategic decision-making. The successful candidate will work closely with Senior Leadership and key stakeholders across the school to provide high-quality data analysis, reporting and admissions support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain student performance, assessment and admissions data using SIMS
  • Create and maintain mark sheets within SIMS and ensure readiness for key data collection deadlines
  • Monitor, update and analyse attainment and progress data across the school
  • Produce reports and performance analysis for Senior Leadership Teams, Governors and external stakeholders
  • Maintain accurate student records, including SEN, LAC and other pupil data categories
  • Prepare SIMS for the collection, validation and analysis of examination results
  • Support departments with assessment processes and produce data summaries using SIMS, SISRA and ALPS
  • Analyse attainment and progress trends and provide reports on key student groups and cohorts
  • Produce student progress reports for parents throughout the academic year
  • Collate and analyse external examination results and produce detailed performance reports
  • Generate regular management information reports covering attendance, behaviour, effort and attainment
  • Maintain the accuracy of student timetables, class lists and target-setting data
  • Support the administration and maintenance of systems including ParentPay, Groupcall and Show My Homework
  • Provide SIMS and systems support and training to new staff members
  • Manage admissions processes, including student record creation, data transfers and liaison with feeder schools
  • Ensure data is stored, maintained and managed in line with school policies and compliance requirements
  • Support the Exams Officer and wider support services team as required
  • Work closely with stakeholders across the school to support data-driven decision making
  • Ensure all work is completed accurately and within strict deadlines
Ideal Candidate Profile:
  • Previous experience working in a Data Officer, Data Manager, MIS Officer or similar role within an educational environment
  • Strong practical experience using SIMS, particularly Assessment Manager
  • Experience working with student performance, assessment and admissions data
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the use of formulas and data analysis functions
  • Experience producing reports and analysing complex datasets
  • Knowledge of SISRA and ALPS would be advantageous
  • Strong ICT skills and proficiency across Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a busy school environment
  • Experience supporting admissions, examinations or school administration functions would be desirable
  • Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities within an education setting

Location: Ilford

Working Pattern: On-site

Hours: 36 hours per week, Term Time + 5 additional days

Length: Initially until October half-term

Salary Equivalent: £20 per hour
