Digital Project Officer

We are currently working with a Local Authority in the South West who are looking for a Digital Project Officer to join their team.

The role will review, update and maintain directory content and communications, while assisting with inbox management, administration, and impact data collation.

Job: Digital Project Officer

Duration: 3 Months

Start date: End of April 2026

Rate: £26 per hour via Umbrella, Inside IR35

Site presence: Hybrid – 2 days per week on-site required

Role Details

• Ensure high standards of accuracy, accessibility, responsiveness and content structure across digital and communication channels
• Review and update a substantial proportion of the directory listings
• Maintain effective and professional inbox management processes
• Contribute to the collation of data evidencing project outputs and outcomes
• Rewrite and edit provider descriptions to ensure optimisation for user search
• Ensure content is categorised correctly and aligned with the website’s structure
• Liaise confidently with providers and strategic stakeholders where clarification or updated information is required
• Create and edit website content using WordPress, improving the experience for users
• Support production of weekly network emails using dotdigital

Requirements

• Experience using WordPress to create and edit website content
• Experience using dotdigital (or similar email marketing platforms) to produce email newsletters
• Excellent written English and advanced editing skills
• Strong analytical ability to assess complex information and determine key messages
• Understanding of how content structure (taxonomy) affects user experience
• Ability to manage shared inboxes and respond professionally to enquiries
• Experience engaging with external stakeholders and gathering information
