About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Performance Analyst to support Children's Services, with a particular focus on developing high-quality performance reporting and insight across SEND and related service areas.

This is an excellent opportunity for a strong data and analytics professional to work with complex datasets, develop meaningful reporting and provide clear, actionable insight to senior stakeholders within a fast-paced local authority environment.

The successful candidate will be confident working with data from multiple sources, improving data quality and translating complex information into accessible dashboards, reports and evidence to support effective decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
Data Analysis & Insight

  • Analyse complex datasets and provide clear, actionable insight to senior stakeholders.
  • Integrate data from multiple sources to develop a reliable evidence base for SEND performance reporting.
  • Identify trends, risks, opportunities and areas for improvement through data analysis.
  • Translate complex technical information into clear and meaningful insight for non-technical audiences.

Reporting & Visualisation

  • Create, develop and maintain effective dashboards and performance reports.
  • Produce high-quality reporting using Power BI or similar visualisation tools.
  • Support programme performance monitoring and reporting.
  • Develop reporting to support strategic and operational decision-making.

Data Management & Quality

  • Use SQL, T-SQL or similar querying/coding skills to interrogate, extract and manipulate data.
  • Improve data quality through robust validation, governance and reporting processes.
  • Support the development of reliable and consistent datasets and reporting processes.

Statutory & Stakeholder Support

  • Support DfE returns and other statutory reporting requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders across education, health and local authority teams.
  • Provide analytical support within a complex, multi-agency environment.
  • Ensure performance information is accurate, timely and fit for purpose.

Key Requirements

  • Strong experience in data analysis and performance reporting.
  • Experience analysing and interpreting complex datasets.
  • Strong dashboard and reporting skills, ideally using Power BI.
  • Experience using SQL, T-SQL or similar querying languages.
  • Ability to integrate and analyse data from multiple systems and sources.
  • Strong understanding of data quality, validation and governance.
  • Experience supporting statutory reporting and/or performance monitoring.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to senior and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities within a fast-paced environment.

Experience within Children's Services, SEND, education, the public sector or Local Government would be highly desirable.
