Project Support Officer

We are currently working with a South Wales based Local Authority who are looking for a Project Support Officer to join their team.

The Project Support Officer will support the effective delivery and implementation of strategic technologies across 24/7 Services. This includes assisting with the physical relocation of the service, upgrading the video management system platform, and managing business change projects to support residents and citizens within the required constraints of time, quality, and cost.

Job: Project Support Officer

Duration: 6 Months (Interim)

Start date: ASAP

Rate: £24 per hour via Umbrella, Inside IR35 (Depending on experience)

Site presence: Hybrid 

Role Details

  • Support the physical relocation of the 24/7 Services unit and the implementation of strategic technologies (CCTV, Wireless networks, GDX systems, Security and Alarm Receiving technology)

  • Establish stakeholder contacts, develop projects, and organize teams to address desired objectives

  • Map current and "to-be" processes to drive forward cultural and system changes, identifying key success criteria

  • Identify opportunities to develop services, evaluate issues/problems, and deliver solutions recognized as best practice

  • Provide performance management of service areas, analyzing and highlighting trends to recommend service improvements

  • Collate and distribute performance reports and produce service area development and business plans

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a project support role, ideally working with contractors and a range of internal and external stakeholders

  • Experience within a technology-driven environment or supporting digital/IT infrastructure projects

  • Strong understanding of process mapping, identifying success criteria, and translating them into operational improvements

  • Ability to analyze harvested data/trends to forecast future service needs and produce performance reports

  • Must be willing to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and Non-Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV) Level 2
