Senior Data and Performance Officer

We are currently working with a Local Authority in the South West who are seeking a Senior Data and Performance Officer to join their team:

This role is responsible for leading data analysis, reporting and performance management across a regional Net Zero programme, using insight to shape strategy, inform decision-making and measure project impact. Working closely with internal teams, local authorities, government departments and external partners, you will oversee data systems, business intelligence and reporting, ensuring high-quality evidence supports the delivery of regional net zero initiatives.

Working arrangement: Hybrid - 2dpw in office

Duration: 9 months

Role Details

  • Lead data analysis, research and reporting to support strategic planning, project development and performance monitoring across multiple Net Zero programmes
  • Develop and maintain CRM systems, BI dashboards and automated reporting tools, ensuring data accuracy, efficiency and compliance with GDPR
  • Produce high-quality reports and insights for senior leaders, programme boards and government stakeholders, translating complex data into clear, actionable information
  • Manage GIS and data-focused projects, providing technical expertise, training and support to colleagues while driving continuous improvement in reporting processes
  • Build strong relationships with local authorities, universities and external partners to improve data sharing, collaboration and evidence-led decision making

Requirements

  • Degree-level qualification (or equivalent) with a strong analytical background
  • Extensive experience in data analysis, performance reporting, business intelligence and CRM development, with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Power BI, Power Automate, PowerApps/Dynamics 365 and Excel
  • Strong understanding of GIS, data visualisation, reporting tools and data quality assurance, with experience presenting complex information to non-technical audiences
  • Excellent project management, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver to tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of coding languages such as SQL, DAX, HTML or JavaScript is advantageous, alongside an understanding of Net Zero, climate change or public sector programmes
