An experienced Team Lead is required to provide day-to-day leadership for a specialist Networks, Firewalls and Telephony team within a large enterprise IT environment. This role will focus on people management, workload prioritisation and service delivery, ensuring business-as-usual network services remain stable and secure while major infrastructure upgrades are delivered in parallel.

The Role

You will be responsible for:

  • Leading and managing a small specialist team of network, firewall and telephony engineers, providing clear direction, prioritisation and support
  • Overseeing day-to-day service delivery, managing BAU workloads, ad-hoc escalations and operational issues
  • Acting as the senior point of contact for incidents affecting network connectivity, telephony and security controls
  • Engaging with suppliers and internal stakeholders to manage support arrangements, maintenance contracts and renewals
  • Ensuring effective delivery management across support services, balancing operational stability with ongoing change activity
  • Providing line management, performance oversight and staff support during a period of infrastructure transformation
  • Maintaining service continuity while aligned teams deliver the deployment of new network and firewall infrastructure

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading or acting in a supervisory role for a small technical or infrastructure team
  • Strong operational understanding of enterprise networking, firewalls and telephony environments, with the ability to manage escalations and service risks
  • Experience managing workloads, priorities and service delivery in a live operational environment
  • Ability to work effectively with specialist engineers without being hands-on technical
  • Experience engaging suppliers and managing support and maintenance contracts
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience working in hybrid environments and supporting critical business services
