Interim Technical Test Manager – Infrastructure/Migration
NHS Organisation (London – Hybrid)
£457 per day (Inside IR35 / PAYE equivalent)
Contract: Until end of December 2026
An NHS organisation in London is seeking an experienced Technical Test Manager to lead testing activity for a critical infrastructure and data centre migration programme.
This role will play a key part in ensuring the safe transition of physical and digital services, including core clinical and operational systems.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and own the end-to-end test strategy for infrastructure and migration activity
- Create detailed test plans, scenarios and governance frameworks aligned to migration objectives
- Lead testing across infrastructure components including servers, switches, data streaming and network services
- Oversee failover and power resilience testing, capturing outcomes and assessing service impact
- Monitor and report on performance metrics, including packet loss and service continuity
- Ensure thorough end-user impact assessment across EPR, telephony and related services
- Coordinate testing with technical teams, stakeholders and suppliers, driving engagement proactively
- Produce clear test reports, dashboards and readiness assessments for senior stakeholders
- Support cutover, migration execution and post-migration validation activities
- Proven experience as a Test Manager within NHS or public sector environments
- Strong background in infrastructure and migration testing
- Experience testing failover, resilience, and live service environments
- Ability to work independently – self-managing, proactive and delivery-focused
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills – able to initiate and lead sessions without direction
- Confident producing documentation in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience capturing and analysing technical test outputs and performance data
- Hybrid role – remote working with flexibility to attend site in London as required
- Ad-hoc working model:
- Initial phase: ~3 days per week (strategy and planning)
- Migration phase: up to 5 days per week
- Post-migration: reduced workload focused on reporting and documentation
