Website & Intranet Officer
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Website and Intranet Officer to join a well-established charity organisation on a temporary basis. This role will be responsible for the day-to-day management and continuous improvement of the organisation's website and intranet, ensuring both platforms remain engaging, accessible, user-friendly and effective in supporting organisational objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the organisation's website, ensuring content, functionality and user journeys remain accurate, engaging and up to date
- Create, edit and publish digital content across website and intranet platforms
- Monitor website functionality and resolve issues in a timely manner
- Support website development projects and ongoing enhancements
- Manage relationships with external web development agencies and digital suppliers
- Analyse website performance data and provide recommendations to improve user experience and engagement
- Optimise website content and structure to improve visibility across search engines and AI-powered search platforms
- Lead ongoing improvements to SEO, accessibility, content discoverability and user journeys
- Maintain and develop the organisation's intranet platform, ensuring information remains accessible and relevant to staff
- Support colleagues with content creation and intranet management
- Produce website performance reports and analyse key digital metrics using analytics tools
- Ensure compliance with GDPR, accessibility standards and digital governance requirements
- Monitor content quality, publishing controls and website governance processes
- Support internal communications and engagement activities through digital channels
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Experience managing and updating websites using a content management system, ideally WordPress
- Experience creating, editing and publishing digital content
- Strong understanding of SEO and website optimisation principles
- Experience using website analytics and reporting tools such as Google Analytics
- Knowledge of website accessibility standards and best practice
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify improvements
- Experience working with stakeholders to gather requirements and improve digital content
- Excellent written communication and content editing skills
- Strong organisational and project management abilities
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to build effective working relationships across a range of stakeholders
- Experience working within the charity, education, housing or public sector would be advantageous
Location: Hybrid (flexible working pattern)
Working Pattern: Part-Time
Hours: 20 hours per week
Length: 3 months
Rate: £18 per hour
