Product Manager (City Of London)
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Product Manager is an integral role in our product team. You will be accountable for the entire product lifecycle-from conceptualisation, market validation, and development, through to launch, adoption and iterative improvement. With P&L responsibilities, you will ensure that each product not only meets market needs but also contributes to the company's financial success. In addition, you will serve as a key ambassador for the product vision at industry conferences, panels and in market-facing forums.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Product Ideation & Strategy:
- Identify market opportunities and customer needs through research, data analysis and stakeholder engagement within the defined product portfolio.
- Develop robust business cases and clear product roadmaps that align with our strategic objectives and drive P&L performance.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Design, Engineering, Revenue/Marketing, and Customer Success) to shape product vision and strategy.
- Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to inform decision-making.
- Product Development & Delivery:
- Lead the product lifecycle end-to-end, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of product features.
- Collaborate with Product Owners throughout the product lifecycle to ensure that requirements are met and align with product strategy
- Utilise agile methodologies and iterate rapidly, incorporating user feedback from prototypes and beta releases into product enhancements.
- Act as a mini-CEO for your product portfolio, continuously measuring deliverables against the initial business case.
- Go-to-Market (GTM) & Adoption:
- Work closely with CRMO to create comprehensive GTM plans that include market segmentation, positioning, and launch strategies and to drive product adoption and achieve set targets.
- Engage directly with customers, partners, and stakeholders to ensure product portfolio meet evolving needs.
- Monitor performance metrics, adjust strategies as required, and champion continuous improvement.
- P&L Management:
- Oversee product budgets, forecast financial performance, and ensure profitability targets are met.
- Regularly review and analyse financial data to inform strategic decisions and optimise revenue streams.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Communication:
- Act as the primary liaison between internal teams and external stakeholders regarding product portfolio matters.
- Ensure clear, consistent communication of product portfolio strategy, milestones, and performance metrics across the organisation.
- Market and Customer Insights:
- Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, emerging technologies, and competitive dynamics to inform product portfolio strategy.
- Represent the company at conferences, panels, forums, and other market-facing events, effectively communicating the product portfolio vision and value proposition.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Achievement of product revenue and profitability targets.
- Successful execution of product roadmap milestones.
- Rates of product adoption, customer satisfaction and retention.
- Quality and impact of external presentations and industry representation.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proven expertise in the London Market and a comprehensive understanding of both broker and carrier trading processes.
- Broad and in-depth understanding of market trends and the evolving technology landscape, including innovations such as API integrations and automated underwriting solutions.
- Demonstrable experience in product management within a technology-driven or SaaS environment, with P&L responsibility.
- Strong strategic, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent cross-functional leadership and communication skills.
- Confidence and presence to represent the company externally at high-profile events.
- Ability to influence and work effectively with senior stakeholders.
