My client, a well-established and highly respected professional services organisation, is looking to appoint a proactive and technically strong Senior BI Engineer to join their growing Data team.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering cloud-based BI solutions, transforming complex data into actionable insights that support both strategic and operational decision-making across the business.

The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders across the organisation, leading BI workstreams within change portfolios and helping shape scalable, high-quality data solutions aligned to the wider data strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead BI workstreams across change initiatives, providing technical expertise and design guidance to ensure solutions align with architectural and data standards.
  • Develop and maintain centralised cloud-based data platforms using modern BI technologies and programming languages.
  • Ensure BI processes, reporting solutions, and data products are fully documented and compliant with governance and quality standards.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into effective BI and data solutions.
  • Coordinate and prioritise incoming data requests to meet business needs in a controlled and efficient manner.
  • Mentor and support developers within the team, promoting best practices and technical excellence.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of technical standards, governance frameworks, and data quality processes.
  • Collaborate with end users during testing phases, providing recommendations and resolving data quality issues where required.

Your Profile:

  • Background in BI Engineering / Development.
  • Strong technical expertise in SQL, Python, DAX, and Power Query.
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modelling methodologies (Star Schema / Snowflake), and ETL/ELT processes.
  • Experience translating business processes into scalable data models and optimising performance across large datasets.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, security, and best-practice data management principles.
  • Proven experience leading development workstreams within data-centric or technical projects.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working within agile, fast-paced environments and managing competing priorities effectively.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in the professional services space (Finance, Insurance, Legal) would be beneficial.
