My client, a well-established and highly respected professional services organisation, is seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join their growing Data team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled data professional to play a key role in designing, developing, and implementing enterprise-scale data platforms that support advanced analytics, reporting, and data governance across the business.

The successful candidate will work closely with technical teams and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, cloud-based data solutions while helping shape the organisation’s wider data strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain centralised cloud-based data platforms that support operational and strategic business requirements.
  • Utilise modern cloud technologies and programming languages to build scalable and efficient data solutions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and translate data requirements into actionable technical solutions.
  • Work alongside project managers to coordinate and prioritise data requests in line with business needs and delivery timelines.
  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of technical data standards, ensuring all data products remain compliant with governance frameworks.
  • Act as the Data Workstream Lead across change portfolios, providing technical leadership and architectural guidance to ensure alignment with the wider data strategy.
  • Manage, review, and mentor assigned engineers and offshore partners, promoting collaboration and best practices.
  • Ensure all data processes, pipelines, and reporting solutions are accurately documented and adhere to governance and data quality standards.

Your Profile:

  • Strong experience in Data Engineering and enterprise-scale data platform development.
  • Excellent working knowledge of data warehousing concepts, ETL/ELT processes, and programming languages, including SQL, Python, and PySpark.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-based BI and data technologies, such as Azure, Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and Microsoft Fabric.
  • Proven experience leading development workstreams within data-centric or technical projects.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, security, quality assurance, and best-practice data management standards.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, agile environments while managing competing priorities effectively.
  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management capabilities across both technical and business teams.
  • Previous experience in professional services (Finance, Insurance, Legal) would be beneficial.
