Overview
An exciting opportunity with our client for a hands-on Head of Data & Analytics to lead reporting and business intelligence across a group of manufacturing businesses.
This role combines strategic leadership with technical delivery, driving a modern data capability while developing high-quality reporting and insights to support operational and strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and deliver the BI & reporting strategy across the organisation
- Design and develop Power BI dashboards, reports, and visualisations
- Work with SQL and raw datasets to build scalable data models
- Establish data governance, KPI frameworks, and reporting standards
- Develop and optimise data pipelines, ETL processes, and reporting performance
- Provide actionable insights to improve operational efficiency and performance
- Automate reporting processes and improve data accessibility
- Partner with senior stakeholders across operations, finance, and leadership
Essential Skills & Experience
- Expert-level Power BI (dashboard design, visualisation)
- Advanced SQL (query writing, optimisation)
- Strong data modelling and analytical dataset design
- Experience working with large, complex datasets
- Background in manufacturing, engineering, or operational environments
- Proven ability to work both strategically and hands-on
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Desirable
- Experience with ERP systems and data integration
- Knowledge of ETL and data warehousing
- Advanced DAX
- Exposure to Azure (Synapse, Azure SQL, Data Lakes)
- Experience with Python or Microsoft BI stack tools
- Track record of improving dashboard performance and data quality
