Overview

An exciting opportunity with our client for a hands-on Head of Data & Analytics to lead reporting and business intelligence across a group of manufacturing businesses.

This role combines strategic leadership with technical delivery, driving a modern data capability while developing high-quality reporting and insights to support operational and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and deliver the BI & reporting strategy across the organisation
  • Design and develop Power BI dashboards, reports, and visualisations
  • Work with SQL and raw datasets to build scalable data models
  • Establish data governance, KPI frameworks, and reporting standards
  • Develop and optimise data pipelines, ETL processes, and reporting performance
  • Provide actionable insights to improve operational efficiency and performance
  • Automate reporting processes and improve data accessibility
  • Partner with senior stakeholders across operations, finance, and leadership

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Expert-level Power BI (dashboard design, visualisation)
  • Advanced SQL (query writing, optimisation)
  • Strong data modelling and analytical dataset design
  • Experience working with large, complex datasets
  • Background in manufacturing, engineering, or operational environments
  • Proven ability to work both strategically and hands-on
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills

Desirable

  • Experience with ERP systems and data integration
  • Knowledge of ETL and data warehousing
  • Advanced DAX
  • Exposure to Azure (Synapse, Azure SQL, Data Lakes)
  • Experience with Python or Microsoft BI stack tools
  • Track record of improving dashboard performance and data quality
