The client
This is the UK-regulated European subsidiary of one of Southeast Asia’s oldest and most established banking groups — a 170+ year institution listed on its domestic stock exchange and considered systemically important in its home market.
The London entity operates as the bridge between UK/EU markets and a large, well-capitalised parent bank with deep corporate and trade finance roots. It’s a lean structure in London, which means visibility, influence and real accountability — not hiding behind layers of hierarchy.
The group itself is undergoing significant digital and operational modernisation globally, and the UK arm plays a strategic role in that cross-border evolution.
Role Duties
HR / Payroll
· Acts as joint authoriser for online bank payments to Barclays, RBS, Wells Fargo, JP Morgan, and other Third Party payment platforms.
· Acts as SWIFT administrator, authorizer, and primary left security officer ensuring that internal controls are strictly observed by all SWIFT users in processing transactions via SWIFT.
· Ensures that all staff job positions in the bank are filled-up and resources are well allocated.
· Makes sure that statutory benefits laid down by regulations are provided to the employees.
· Establishes HR policies and procedures for approval by management and ensures that these are abreast with current regulations.
· Ensures that performance review of all employees is conducted annually.
· Assures the health and safety of every employee by implementing health and safety practices in the workplace.
General
· Provides back-up support to operations in the absence of the Operations Head.
· Ensures that all business relationships, engagements, services and leaseholds of the bank are covered by Service Level Agreements (SLA), Term of Business, or contracts and are regularly updated.
· Ensures that the necessary insurance requirements of the bank are secured on time and payments are updated.
· Monitors and authorises payments of general office expenses.
IT
· Project management of IT-related tasks (e.g., systems implementations /upgrades / enhancements)
· Ensures that policies and procedures are established governing the information security of the bank and that these are implemented.
