Senior IT Transformation Manager (2 years FTC)

This is a flexible, hybrid role and can be based from either of our offices in Peterborough, Manchester, Chesterfield, Stoke or Sunderland. We also have largely remote options available.

Reports to: Chief Technology Officer.

Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), Project Management Office (PMO) and Procurement.

Role Purpose

The Senior IT Transformation Manager will play a critical role in driving our internal IT transformation Programme. The key objective of this role is to be the IT Business owner in the transformation Programme, working closely with the Programme Director.

The Senior IT Transformation Manager will ensure that solutions are aligned with strategic objectives and deliver measurable outcomes for colleagues across the business.

Main objectives

  • Oversee the transformation Programme benefit realisation.
  • Ensure necessary capabilities, in line with the Programme's deliverables.
  • Resource optimisation across IT teams in line with the Programme's deliverables.
  • Supporting delivery of new capabilities (with CTO as sponsor)

Key Responsibilities

  • Identifying opportunities to leverage technology in order to optimise our operating model and enhance service delivery.
  • Leading analysis of IT costs and operations to quantify value creation opportunities and transformation journeys with supporting business cases.
  • Translate IT business goals into a clear, prioritised product roadmap. Manages the work backlog required for the Project & prioritisation to optimise delivery sequencing and value.
  • Validates the feasibility and internal dependencies of items prior to development.
  • Act as the IT business primary point of contact for programme decisions and communication, getting to the route cause of the problems, ensuring issues are managed and unblocked.
  • Confidently challenges assumptions, decisions, and constraints to protect delivery quality and outcomes.
  • Works in close partnership with the Programme Office to support and deliver the Project  – ensuring the programme backlog is managed for the PMO to deliver.
  • Leads organisational change management and ensures business readiness.
  • Drive alignment: leads the adoption and embedding of new capabilities so IT realises the desired outcomes and benefits from the programme.
