Test Engineer
Job Title: Test Engineer (Hardware)
Location: Tunbridge Wells - Hybrid
We are looking for a Test Engineer to join our development team in the validation and testing of the in-vehicle camera devices with our IoT platform. Reporting to the Head of QA, you'll focus on user acceptance testing of both the hardware and its performance within our end-to-end solution.
This is an ideal role for a methodical and analytical thinker. You'll conduct both real-world vehicle based tests and bench testing, producing clear, accurate test reports and working closely with developers and QA analysts to identify, reproduce, and help resolve any issues.
A full UK driving license is essential as part of the role involves performing test drives with installed equipment to validate data accuracy. You’ll also need to be comfortable installing and removing test hardware from vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform in-vehicle and bench-based testing of hardware devices
- Create and maintain formal test documentation, including test plans and reports
- Collaborate with developers, product owners, and QA teams in an Agile environment
- Identify, document, and track issues through to resolution
- Support investigation and troubleshooting of hardware and software integration issues
Essential Skills:
- Experinace in installing and removeing aftermarket electronic equipment in vehicles
- Ability to document test cases and results into formal reports
- Technical and analytical mindset with practical problem-solving skills
- Experience in Web and device testing
- Hands-on experience using electronic test equipment (e.g., DMMs, oscilloscopes, function generators)
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Full UK driving license
Desired Skills:
- Experience with Azure or any cloud platform solution
- Experience in Telematics and testing of telematics device
- Working knowledge of specific HW systems such as GPS, GSM, LTE, MCU’s and sensors that are common electronic components making up typical camera and telematics systems
- Understanding of regulatory approvals and compliance for automotive or consumer electronics
- Experience with API testing and integration
