Data Governance Consultant / Lead £365/day (Outside IR35) | Remote (occasional travel to London client site) | UK-based candidates only, must hold full right to work in the UK

About the Role

We're seeking a Data Governance Consultant / Lead with experience in enterprise data management and information governance. This role suits a confident, senior-facing practitioner who can engage directly with business stakeholders and drive governance maturity across the organisation.

Key Details

• Rate: £365 per day, Outside IR35
• Working Pattern: Remote, with occasional travel to the client site in London
• Location Requirement: Candidates must be UK-based with full right to work in the UK — no sponsorship available

The Role

• Establish and embed data governance practices aligned to the DAMA framework
• Define and implement data ownership and stewardship models
• Design and roll out data quality controls across the enterprise
• Work closely with senior business stakeholders to drive adoption and buy-in
• Develop target operating models (TOM), data policies, and governance metrics
• Lead data maturity assessments and define frameworks to track progress

What You'll Bring

• experience in enterprise data management / information governance
• Deep expertise in DAMA-based governance practices, including ownership and stewardship models
• Proven track record building TOMs, data policies, metrics, and maturity assessment frameworks
• Hands-on experience with metadata management, data lineage mapping, and data cataloguing tools — Microsoft Purview, Informatica, or Collibra
• Strong understanding of data security frameworks and regulatory compliance (GDPR)
• Solid grounding in standard risk management workflows
• Comfortable operating at senior stakeholder level
• UK-based with full right to work — essential
