Our client is looking for a QA Engineer to join their team and help maintain a high standard of software quality across their products.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a genuine interest in software testing, product quality and technology. You'll work closely with the QA Lead, developers and product stakeholders to test new features, validate bug fixes, support release testing and help shape the wider testing process. The role spans both manual and automated testing, so you'll take ownership of the existing automation suite (currently built in TestCafe) alongside hands-on manual, exploratory and regression testing.
What you'll be doing
- Taking full ownership of the existing automated test suite, including maintenance, triaging failing tests and improving coverage and reliability
- Designing, building and maintaining automated tests for new features and enhancements
- Investigating and resolving flaky or failing tests to keep the suite trustworthy
- Maintaining automated tests within the CI/CD pipeline
- Recommending improvements to the automation approach, tooling or framework
- Executing manual, exploratory and regression testing across the product
- Writing clear, structured test cases and raising accurate, reproducible defect logs
- Collaborating with the QA Lead on test planning, estimation and release readiness
- Taking part in agile ceremonies — stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives
- Keeping accurate records of testing progress in Jira
What we're looking for
- Experience in software testing, QA, technical support, software development or a similar technical environment
- Strong programming experience in JavaScript/TypeScript, Java or C#, with solid coding best practices
- Hands-on experience with UI, API and end-to-end automation frameworks (TestCafe, Playwright, Cypress or similar)
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical, structured approach to testing
- Confident communicator, comfortable working with both technical and non-technical colleagues
- Good standard of education (English and Maths at GCSE grade 4/C or above, or equivalent)
- Eligible to live and work in the UK
Desirable:
- Exposure to AI/LLM or agentic AI testing, including evaluation frameworks and non-deterministic testing
- Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines, including quality gates and test reliability
- ISTQB or a related technical qualification
Why apply
This role offers genuine long-term career development within our client's QA and product delivery function. As you grow into the role, there's real scope to help shape the automation strategy, influence test planning and release assurance, and mature the wider product quality process — this isn't a role where you'll just be running scripts, you'll be helping build how quality is done here.
We're looking for someone curious, analytical and genuinely interested in how software behaves — someone reliable and organised who takes pride in producing high-quality work, isn't afraid to ask questions or flag concerns, and enjoys collaborating across a team.
