Citrix Engineer (BAU Support)

Contract Length: 12 Months (Highly Likely to Extend)

Location: London (Hybrid – 2 days onsite per week)

Rate: £600 per day (Inside IR35)

Overview

An experienced Citrix Engineer is required to join a large enterprise infrastructure team, providing BAU operational support across a critical Citrix environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining platform stability, resolving incidents, supporting service requests, and driving continuous improvement across the Citrix estate. This role requires strong hands-on experience with Citrix technologies, with particular emphasis on NetScaler and Provisioning Services (PVS).

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day BAU support for the Citrix infrastructure estate.
  • Act as an escalation point for Citrix-related incidents and technical issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure incidents and service requests in line with agreed SLAs.
  • Support major incident management activities and provide technical input during service outages.
  • Monitor platform health, performance, capacity and availability.
  • Administer and support Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops environments.
  • Manage and support NetScaler (Citrix ADC) configurations and services.
  • Support Citrix Provisioning Services (PVS) environments and image management processes.
  • Implement approved changes through established change management procedures.
  • Maintain technical documentation, operational runbooks and support procedures.
  • Work closely with infrastructure, networking and end-user computing teams to support platform improvements and upgrades.
  • Participate in out-of-hours maintenance activities where required.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience supporting Citrix environments within enterprise organisations.
  • Proven hands-on experience with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops.
  • Extensive NetScaler (Citrix ADC) administration and troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience supporting Citrix Provisioning Services (PVS).
  • Strong incident management and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working within ITIL-aligned support environments.
  • Infrastructure monitoring, performance tuning and capacity management experience.
  • Excellent stakeholder communication and documentation skills.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience within financial services or other highly regulated environments.
  • Exposure to Citrix Cloud technologies.
  • Experience supporting large-scale virtual desktop environments.
  • Familiarity with automation and scripting technologies.
  • Knowledge of VMware, Microsoft server technologies and Active Directory.
  • Previous experience acting as a technical SME within an infrastructure support team.
