Hardware Repair Engineer
Location: Dartford, Kent
Contract: Immediate start - initially contract with potential to become permanent
The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Hardware Repair Engineer/IT Repair Technician to join an established operation where there is a genuine long-term requirement for the role.
The initial requirement is contract, with the expectation that this could develop into a permanent position for the right individual.
The business is experiencing a significant and growing volume of out-of-warranty laptops and IT equipment requiring repair.
Key Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for the diagnosis, repair and refurbishment of a range of IT hardware, including:

Lenovo ThinkPad laptops
-
Dell Latitude laptops
-
HP EliteBook, ZBook and Pro ranges
-
Desktop PCs
-
Printers
The role will involve hands-on and invasive hardware repairs, including:

Screen replacements
-
Keyboard replacements
-
Battery replacements
-
Casing and chassis repairs
-
Mainboard replacements
-
Memory upgrades and replacements
-
Fault diagnosis and general hardware troubleshooting

Testing and ensuring equipment is fully operational following repair
About You
We are looking for someone with strong practical experience in IT hardware repair and component-level replacement.
You will need to be confident working hands-on with laptops, desktops and associated equipment, with the ability to diagnose faults and carry out repairs efficiently and accurately.
Key requirements:

Proven hands-on experience repairing IT hardware

Strong experience with Lenovo, Dell and HP laptops

Experience carrying out invasive laptop repairs

Good understanding of PC hardware and components

Experience repairing or servicing printers would be advantageous

A methodical approach to fault finding and repair
-
Able to work independently and manage a busy workload
