Vertpaint is looking for Junior Level Designers with a strong passion for horror and narrative-driven games. We are on the lookout for candidates with a sharp artistic eye, a deep understanding of environmental storytelling, and the ability to craft realistic, atmospheric and memorable levels that support both gameplay and narrative.

What We’re Looking For

Must-Have Experience and Skills

• Experience designing levels for horror and narrative-focused games (personal or professional)
• Strong passion for level design and game design as a craft
• Portfolio demonstrating level design work
• Solid experience working in Unreal Engine 5
• Experience collaborating closely with other disciplines such as art, narrative, and programming
• Strong artistic eye for composition, architecture, pacing, and atmosphere

Nice To Have

• Understanding of rural British aesthetic, history, architecture & general influences
• Cross discipline experience
• Game design experience
• NPC design experience
• Indie/Solo-Dev experience
• A passion for horror experiences
