Senior Full Stack Developer (Laravel, VueJS and React)
As a Senior Full Stack Developer, you will be responsible for contributing to the technical design, development, and implementation of the Viewber application ecosystem. The role involves more than just writing production code; in a typical week, you could be brainstorming technical architecture options, providing feedback to improve our development processes, reviewing PRs from other team members, fixing a bug you randomly came across, or improving unit test coverage.
You will take ownership of complex features and improvements end to end, including technical design, implementation, testing, and post-release quality. You will play a key role in improving and maintaining the overall health, performance, and maintainability of the entire codebase.
You will operate with a high level of autonomy and will be expected to influence technical direction across both frontend and backend, not just execute tasks. In a fully remote environment, you will be responsible for your own time and results.
One full-time position is available, working Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm (with a 1-hour break). To be considered, you will have an Office Set-up at home, which is free from distractions and noise, as well as high-speed broadband.
Required qualities and skills:
- At least 2 years of experience working from home.
- Nutcracker: you love solving engineering problems.
- Independent: you are self-motivated, take initiative, and are a strong communicator. You are results-driven and willing to learn and improve yourself.
- Technical Ninja: proficiency with PHP 8.1+, Laravel 8+, MySQL, and Git, backed by 4+ years of professional development experience. You are also very experienced with front-end frameworks like Vue.js and React.
- Design Pattern Jedi: great knowledge of and direct experience with multiple design patterns. You have written superbly abstracted code and accompanying unit tests from scratch. You have also refactored legacy, non-testable code into something less apocalyptic.
- Caring Developer: you recognise that your code and work impact not only the customers but also the rest of the team. You conduct yourself with professionalism and respect not only in meetings but also in how you structure your code and in the documentation that you write.
- Superb English fluency: we are an international team, and clear communication is vital. It goes without saying (but we’ll say it anyway) that you absolutely must have the ability to participate in frequent video meetings.
Nice to have:
- Experience with setting up and actively using CI/CD pipelines in a major project using Circle, Gitlab, or Bitbucket.
- Experience in and desire to participate in mentoring, shaping the development process.
- Experience refactoring production enterprise systems and live DB structures.
