Data Consultant (Cloud)

Leeds - Hybrid (1 DPW in office)

£66,000 - £75,000 + bonus

VIQU has partnered with a leading supply chain company looking for a Data Consultant to play a key role in shaping the future of their data platform. This is a hybrid role, combining stakeholder engagement, solution design, and hands-on delivery - ideal for someone who can see the bigger picture and translate business needs into robust, scalable solutions.

You'll be the go-to person bridging the gap between the business and technical teams - leading conversations, shaping ideas into clear requirements, and ensuring the solutions deliver real value. This is a great opportunity to work across both strategy and delivery within a forward-thinking organisation.

Key Responsibilities of the Data Consultant:

â      •    Act as the link between business stakeholders and technical teams, understanding what the business needs from the new platform and translating that into clear, actionable plans.â      •    Lead solution design across multiple projects, ensuring alignment with both business goals and technical capability.â      •    Own the early-stage discovery and definition process - gathering requirements, defining problems, and outlining the best data-led approach.â      •    Guide and mentor technical teams on best practices, and support delivery with demos, PoCs, and architectural input where needed.â      •    Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and future-proofed - always with a focus on delivering business value.

Key Requirements of the Data Consultant:

â      •    Strong experience engaging with business stakeholders - able to gather requirements, challenge assumptions, and turn needs into solutions.â      •    Background in solution design and a solid understanding of data platform strategy.â      •    Proven experience with Databricks (Azure or AWS), SQL, and Pythonâ      •    Understanding of cloud technologies (either AWS or Azure)â      •    Experience in data modelling, pipeline optimisation, and delivering scalable solutions.â      •    Comfortable working across both technical and non-technical teams - strong communicator and collaborator.â      •    Knowledge of security standards (e.g., NIST, PCI) and tooling like JIRA is a plus.â      •    Ideally degree educated in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar, with 8+ years in data-focused roles.
