Python Engineer | Energy Trading - LNG. Front Office on the desk | £750/Day Inside IR35 | Multi year contract

Python Engineer required to work with a Commodities & Energy trading house to join one of the most commercially impactful and fastest-growing desks in the business.

This is not a traditional Python engineering role. You’ll sit directly on the trading desk, working day-to-day with traders and energy analysts focused on Japanese gas & power markets, building the platforms and tools that underpin real trading decisions.

As a Python Engineer, you'll be building Python-based data and analytics platforms used directly by the trading desk, developing tools for:

• Gas & power forecasting
• Pre-trade analytics
• Storage optimisation

Working closely with traders and analysts to translate market ideas into scalable solutions

Designing robust, production-grade systems for real-time and decision-critical use

Contributing to the evolution of the desk’s analytics and modelling capability

💰Up to £750/Day Inside IR35

🚂 3 days per week in office (Liverpool Street)

📑 6 months rolling, multi year contract.

🧑 💻Strong Python software engineering. Experience building systems in finance (e.g. trading, pricing, risk, PnL). Translating desk problems into Technical Solutions.
