Senior Data Engineer (Python) | Greenfield Energy Trading Desk | London Hybrid x3/week | Up to £130k + Bonus + Benefits

I am working with a unique client who is a start up subsidiary of a massive Energy Trading firm and looking to build out their Data Engineer teams with more hires.

This is not your typical Data Engineering role. You would be joining a greenfield, early stage arm of the business where you are expected to jump onboard and get accustomed to working independently almost immediately. A perfect opportunity for someone who seeks the thrill of such an opportunity and wants to have full ownership and impact over what they are working on.

Most of their work is covering the Power & Gas desks at the moment and expertise in Energy Trading and Derivatives is crucial for being able to be on top of the work being done. On top of that, you will be relying heavily on Python for writing in various APIs, as well as, ingesting data into pipelines and backfilling with some data quality. You will be deploying the work you do and not relying on a deployment team to do for you.

However, in return you get to make a real difference in one of the most exciting businesses in the London Energy Trading space at the moment.

Key Skills:

• Extensive experience delivering enterprise-scale data solutions working with Python and ETL pipelines.
• Understanding of AWS is key
• Strong proficiency in building scalable, production-grade ELT pipelines.
• Solid grounding in data engineering best practices, with a focus on performance, reliability, and governance across ETL, modelling, and transformation workflows. As well as, deployment.
• Proven ability to operate within smaller size firms within the Energy Trading and Derivatives space (with extra priority given to those who worked on Power desks).

The role is offering up to £130k + Bonus + Benefits and requires 3 days in London office near St. Paul's.
