About The Role Team – Group Architecture and Engineering Standards Working Pattern - Hybrid – 2 days per week in the Vitality Bournemouth or London Office. Full time hours.We are happy to discuss flexible working! Top 3 skills needed for this role:

What this role is all about: Join us as a Data Engineer and become a driving force behind high-impact, high-performance data solutions. You’ll take ownership of designing and supercharging data pipelines that keep our business moving, bringing fresh thinking and technical flair to every challenge. Your voice will shape our data design principles, your ideas will spark conversation across engineering forums, and your expertise in analytics and operational processing will help unlock smarter, faster decision-making.Key Actions
  • Work with Data Engineering team to implement robust and trustworthy data to support high-performance Kafka streams and predictive models
  • Deploy and maintain machine learning models as APIs for use in our live environments
  • Employ a variety of languages and tools (e.g. scripting languages) to develop and manage robust data pipelines connecting various systems
  • Develop datasets and processes that facilitate data modelling, mining, and production
  • Provide clean, usable data to data community and recommend ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality
  • Research opportunities for data acquisition and new uses for existing data
  • Work collaboratively with the Data Science, Data Architecture, and other IT delivery teams to design, construct, install, test and maintain highly scalable data management systems
What do you need to thrive?
  • A degree in IT, Computer Science, Maths or a related discipline, with 3+ years’ experience across BI, data warehousing, data management, ETL and database technologies
  • Strong hands-on experience building and optimising data pipelines using Python, SQL, Apache Spark, and Microsoft SSIS
  • Proven ability to design, deliver and maintain scalable data solutions across data warehouses and Big Data Lakes, supporting both on-premise and cloud environments
  • High proficiency with Google Cloud Platform services, including BigQuery, DataForm, DataProc, Cloud Composer and DataPlex, coupled with a solid understanding of cloud-native engineering best practices
