IT Capacity and Risk Manager

About The Role Team – Information Security Working Pattern - Hybrid – 2 days per week in the either the Vitality Bournemouth or London office. Full time, 35 hours per week. We are happy to discuss flexible working! Top 3 skills needed for this role:

What this role is all about: As our IT Capacity and Risk Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring our technology environment remains robust, compliant, and future-ready. Lead cross-team efforts to embed risk management and capacity planning, advancing IT operations and strategic goals with excellence and compliance.This is a high-impact role where you’ll translate complex technical risks into actionable business insights, maintain high-quality documentation, and act as a key bridge between Technology, Compliance, and Governance teams. You’ll also ensure infrastructure capacity is aligned with business growth, enabling proactive planning and decision-making.Key Actions Capacity Planning & Performance
  • Conduct capacity management activities across infrastructure and applications
  • Forecast resource needs based on business growth and usage trends
  • Ensure systems meet SLAs without over-provisioning
  • Identify performance bottlenecks and underutilised resources
Governance & Risk Management
  • Design and assess IT controls (e.g., access, change, application, general IT controls)
  • Conduct gap analyses against different frameworks such as ISO 27001
  • Maintain and enhance the IT risk register, tracking mitigation activities
  • Manage root cause analysis for capacity-related incidents and implement preventive measures
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Collaborate with senior leaders, CIOs, and programme managers to align IT capacity with strategic initiatives
  • Present risk assessments and capacity plans to leadership
  • Promote risk-aware decision-making across technology teams
Reporting & Analysis
  • Produce insightful reports on capacity, performance, and trends
  • Integrate capacity metrics into IT risk assessments and executive reporting
  • Support internal and external audits, including evidence collection and walkthroughs
Collaboration & Tool Management
  • Work closely with IT operations, service delivery, and project teams
  • Use tools like Dynatrace, SolarWinds, and custom dashboards to monitor and model capacity
  • Support awareness and training initiatives around IT risk and control obligations
What do you need to thrive?
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and escalate emerging risks
  • Experience translating technical risk into business-relevant messaging
  • Deep understanding of IT controls and regulatory frameworks
  • Familiarity with IT infrastructure (servers, cloud, storage, networks)
  • Knowledge of ITIL, especially Capacity Management
  • Proficiency in monitoring and reporting tools
