Role Description The Siemens Legacy PBX Support Engineer will provide full-time, on-site technical support for Siemens legacy PBX environments in the Greater Glasgow Area. This role involves monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting PBX systems, including call routing, voice mail, integrations, and associated telephony infrastructure. The engineer will handle incident diagnosis and resolution, perform root cause analysis, apply patches and configuration changes, and coordinate with vendors or internal teams when needed. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing service requests, documenting technical procedures, updating system records, and ensuring adherence to service level agreements. The role also involves working closely with customers and internal stakeholders to provide clear communication, plan maintenance activities, and support upgrades or migration projects as required.
Qualifications
- Strong Siemens legacy PBX knowledge, including configuration, administration, maintenance, and integration with related telephony systems.
- Proficiency in technical support and troubleshooting, with a focus on diagnosing and resolving PBX and telephony-related incidents efficiently.
- Experience in customer support and customer service, including handling inquiries, managing expectations, and communicating solutions clearly and professionally.
- Familiarity with operating systems commonly used in telephony and networking environments, and the ability to work within related tools and interfaces.
- Solid understanding of voice networks, VoIP concepts, SIP, and telephony protocols; experience with contact center or IVR environments is an advantage.
- Strong documentation skills, including maintaining technical records, change logs, and knowledge base articles.
- Ability to work on-site full time in the Greater Glasgow Area, manage priorities under time pressure, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Relevant technical certification or equivalent experience in telephony, networking, or systems engineering; prior experience with Siemens PBX systems is highly desirable.
