As our Head of Data & Analytics, you will define and deliver our data vision, leading the development of a modern, scalable data ecosystem that empowers smarter decision-making, drives operational excellence, and supports our future AI ambitions.
About our role
- Lead the delivery of VolkerWessels UK's Data & Analytics strategy, ensuring data becomes a key driver of business performance and decision-making.
- Build, develop and inspire a high-performing Data & Analytics team, creating a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Design and implement robust data governance and Master Data Management frameworks, ensuring data quality, integrity and compliance.
- Architect and deliver modern cloud-based data platforms using Microsoft Fabric, Databricks and Power BI.
- Take ownership of the Power BI and cloud data platform environments, ensuring they are secure, scalable and fit for purpose.
- Develop impactful dashboards, reports and analytics solutions that provide actionable insight to senior leaders across the business.
- Act as the senior technical authority, providing hands-on expertise across data modelling, DAX, ETL pipelines, SQL and analytics architecture.
- Collaborate with stakeholders at all levels to understand business challenges and deliver data solutions that create measurable value.
- Drive innovation by identifying emerging technologies, trends and opportunities that strengthen our data capabilities and competitive advantage.
About you
We're looking for a passionate and technically credible leader who can combine strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.
You'll bring:
- Proven experience leading Data & Analytics functions and developing high-performing teams.
- Expert-level knowledge of Power BI, DAX, Power Query, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, SQL and ETL/data pipeline technologies.
- Strong experience in data governance, data quality and Master Data Management (MDM).
- A track record of delivering enterprise-scale data and analytics solutions.
- Outstanding stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Degree-level qualification in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
