The Position: Data Analyst (Nuclear)
The Data Analyst will play a key role within the Data & Analytics function, supporting nuclear operations through high‐quality data engineering, reporting, and analytical insight. Working closely with operational teams, engineers, safety specialists, and senior leadership, you will develop and maintain data pipelines, dashboards, and analytical models.
This role acts as a central link between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams, ensuring that data is transformed into meaningful insights that support safety, performance, regulatory compliance, and strategic decision‐making.
Some of the main responsibilities of the Data Analyst will include:
- Develop and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory to ingest data from operational systems, sensors, maintenance logs, and regulatory datasets.
- Use Azure Databricks (SQL/PySpark) to transform, cleanse, and model large datasets for analytical consumption.
- Build interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI to support operational performance, asset health monitoring, outage planning, and safety KPIs.
- Apply Power Query to shape and prepare data for reporting and self‐service analytics.
- Ensure data lineage, quality, and governance meet nuclear regulatory standards, maintaining audit‐ready documentation.
- Conduct trend analysis, forecasting, and anomaly detection to support proactive operational decision‐making.
- Work with multidisciplinary teams to understand data needs and translate them into technical requirements and analytical solutions.
- Present insights clearly to both technical and non‐technical audiences, supporting informed decision‐making.
Preferred Profile
Alongside a commitment to our values of Care & Compassion, Performance, Team Spirit, and Inclusiveness, we are looking for individuals who can bring the following:
- Degree‐level qualification or equivalent experience in Data/Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related discipline.
- Proficiency in Power BI, including DAX, data modelling, and dashboard design.
- Experience using Power Query for data shaping and transformation.
- Hands‐on experience with Azure Data Factory and Azure Databricks for data engineering and transformation.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams to translate business needs into data products.
- Demonstrated end‐to‐end analytical experience, including data discovery, profiling, validation, transformation, and insight communication.
- Understanding of data quality rules, data lineage, and basic data modelling concepts.
- Experience in nuclear, energy, utilities, defence, or other highly regulated environments is desirable but not essential.
