Head of Transport & Logistics Location Based at Unit 1 Mallusk View, BT36 4FR, with travel across Vyta sites in the UK, Ireland and Europe asrequired. Reporting to Chief Operations Officer (COO) This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced transport andlogisticsprofessional to lead Vytas transport function and act as the nominated Transport Manager onVytasOperator Licences. The Role As Head of Transport & Logistics atVyta, you will lead the Transport & Logistics function across the UK,Irelandand Europe, ensuring transport operations are safe, compliant, commercially effective and aligned with businessobjectives. The role has overall responsibility for transport operations, fleet management,logisticsservices, transport compliance, customsprocessesand strategic development of the transport function. The postholder will act as the nominated Transport Manager onVytasOperatorLicencesand willbe responsible formaintainingeffective management and regulatory compliance of all licensed transport activities. KeyResponsibilities Transport Leadership&Management Lead the Transport & Logistics function across allVytalocations. Procure vehicles and services to meet strategy and compliance requirements (2ndbullet point) Provide leadership and line management to transport office staff, supervisors,driversand collection crews. Develop and implement a transport strategy aligned to company growthobjectives. Create andmaintaina consistent transport operating model across all sites. Ensure transport planning, collection execution, fleet management, drivermanagementand compliance activity are coordinated effectively across all locations. Develop transport capability, succession planning,KPIsand performance measures across the function. Transport ManagementResponsibilities Act as the nominated Transport Manager forVytasOperatorLicences. Maintain continuous and effective management of all licensed transport operations. Ensure compliance with all OperatorLicenceundertakings,conditionsand regulatory obligations. Maintain systems for driver hours, tachograph management, Driver CPC,licenceverification, defectreportingand vehicle maintenance compliance. Oversee maintenance providers, inspection schedules, preventative maintenanceprogrammesand vehicle roadworthiness standards. Lead transport audits, regulatoryinspectionsand compliance reviews. Liaise with Traffic Commissioners, regulatory bodies and enforcement authorities whererequired. Provide transport compliance assurance to the COO and senior leadership team. Support futurelicenceapplications,licencevariations and transport compliance requirements associated with business growth. Fleet & Compliance Management Own fleet strategy, replacementplanningand fleet performance. Ensure vehicles aremaintainedto the highest operational and compliance standards. Oversee servicing, MOT, LOLER, inspections, defectmanagementand preventative maintenanceprogrammes. Maintain driver compliance systems and ensure recordsremainaccurateand audit ready. Monitor vehicleutilisation, fleetefficiencyand transport compliance risk. Transport Operations & Logistics Oversee collection planning and execution across all regions. Ensure efficient vehicle,crewand resource allocation. Manage transport service performance and operational capacity. Support major projects, relocations, datacentreworkand large-scale collections. Ensure effective coordination between Transport, Operations, ServiceDeliveryand other business functions. Logistics, Customs & Commercial Management Own relationships with pallet networks, freight carriers,couriersandlogisticsproviders. Negotiate and manage transport-related contracts and commercial agreements. Monitor and manage transport andlogisticsexpenditure,budgetsand performance reporting. Develop and improve customs and cross-borderlogisticsprocesses. Ensure import/export and customs requirements are properly controlled and documented. Identify opportunities for cost reduction, improved fleetutilisationand logistics efficiency. Develop transport pricing models and support commercial decision making where required. Chain of Custody, Security & Quality Standards Ensure transport operationscomply withVytas chain-of-custody, datasecurityand customer assurance requirements. Ensure transport records, manifests, wastedocumentationand collection records aremaintainedaccurately. Maintain transport security processes and standards across all sites and vehicles. Support investigations and corrective actions relating to transport activity,incidentsor documentation issues. Continuous Improvement Lead transport improvement projects across planning, systems, reporting, routeefficiencyand fleetutilisation. Improvelogisticsreporting, costvisibilityand carrier performance management. Drive technology adoption and process improvement within the transport function. Ensure the function develops from a reactive transport operation into a proactive,compliantand commercially managed business function. Health, Safety & Operational Standards Promote safe working practices across transport, driving, loading,unloadingand collection activity. Ensure drivers and collection crews follow safe systems of work and site-specific requirements. Ensure vehicles, equipment and driver areas aremaintainedtoappropriate standards. Ensure defects, incidents, near misses and safety concerns are recorded,investigatedand closed out. Work with Health & Safety and Compliance teams to ensure transport activityremainsaligned with legal and company requirements. Essential Criteria Strong leadership,communicationand peoplemanagement skills. Commercial awareness and experience managing budgets,suppliersand operational performance. Transport Manager CPC qualification. Eligible to act as a nominated Transport Manager onVytasOperatorLicences. Significant experiencemanaging transport operations within an OperatorLicenceenvironment. Strong understanding of OperatorLicenceobligations, driver hours legislation, tachograph compliance, Driver CPCrequirementsand vehicle maintenance compliance. Experience managing drivers,fleetsand transport teams. Ability to manage operational priorities while delivering strategic improvement. Strongorganisationalskills and high attention to detail in relation to compliance,documentationand audit requirements. Desirable Criteria Experience within ITAD, recycling, waste management, environmentalservicesor securelogistics. Experience managing customs or cross-borderlogistics. Experience managing pallet networks,courieror freight contracts. Knowledge of UK, Irish and European transport regulations. Experience of transport software, telematics, tachographsystemsor fleet management platforms. Experience developing transport KPIs, costreportingor fleet performance reporting.
