Applications Engineer
WA Consultants is seeking an experienced Applications Engineer to join our client on an initial 6-month contract. This hybrid role requires attendance in Taunton 1-2 days per week.
Role Overview
You will be responsible for the administration, configuration, and ongoing support of SaaS-based collaboration and development tools. The role combines technical expertise with service management best practice, ensuring reliable and efficient application performance across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and configure SaaS platforms such as GitHub, Atlassian (Jira, Confluence), Lucid, and Mural
- Provide application support, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident resolution
- Manage incidents and service requests in alignment with ITIL principles and established service management processes
- Act as a technical escalation point for complex queries and issues
- Support and mentor junior team members, encouraging knowledge sharing and continuous development
- Contribute to service improvement initiatives and operational best practices
Key Skills & Experience
- Hands-on experience administering and configuring SaaS-based DevOps tooling (eg, GitHub, Jira, Confluence, Lucid, Mural)
- Strong background in application support within a structured IT service environment
- Solid understanding of ITIL principles and service management best practices
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members
