Operations & Maintenance Apprentice Technician
The successful candidate will learn all aspects on how to operate and carry out first line maintenance in a new modern Biomass power plant, ensuring the plant is operated with respect to safety, environmental and operational limits always, whilst maximising availability, reliability and efficiency.
Role

Learn electrical and mechanical skills from experienced time served mechanical and electrical/instrumentation Engineers to enable them to carry out planned and reactive first line maintenance tasks.

Work closely with the Operations department to develop an understanding of how the power station generates electricity that is distributed to the grid system.

Support the site team in the day to day running of the power station.

Training
- Engineering Technician Level 3

Location of training: Western Biomass Operating Company, Tilbury Green Power Plant, Port of Tilbury, Essex,
RM18 7NU - 1 day per week in college
- This role could lead to full time employment within WBOC in one of the departments that is most suited to the individual, most likely Operations or Maintenance. For the right candidates, further education and development would be an option for future career progression into Engineering and Management.
There is an Engineering skills gap in the power industry and this opportunity will be a rewarding career route.

Tilbury Green Power Plant is a 41.5MWe power plant that that burns 300,000 tonnes of waste wood every year which supplies renewable energy to approximately 97,000 homes.
