Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Dynatrace Consultant to join our Observability Team on a 12-month engagement. This role is critical in driving the adoption and integration of Dynatrace across a complex enterprise environment. You will work closely with platform teams, application owners, and DevOps engineers to enable full observability, implement best practices, and ensure successful platform rollout as part of our new Center of Excellence initiative.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical consulting and enablement to internal engineering teams for effective use of Dynatrace.

  • Build dashboards, alerts, and service flow mappings aligned with application performance needs.

  • Develop and optimize Dynatrace Query Language (DQL) queries for actionable insights.

  • Support observability design and migration from tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and AWS CloudWatch to Dynatrace.

  • Advise on RBAC models, data access strategies, and security best practices for multi-team environments.

  • Design monitoring strategies for Kubernetes workloads in hybrid cloud/on-prem environments.

  • Promote observability-as-code using tools like Terraform and GitLab for automation and CI/CD integration.

  • Create and maintain documentation, reusable patterns, and enablement guides for engineering teams.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Proven hands-on experience with the Dynatrace platform in consulting, onboarding, or solution architecture roles.

  • Expertise in writing and optimizing DQL queries for deep telemetry analysis.

  • Strong understanding of hybrid infrastructures (cloud + on-prem) and modern application architectures.

  • Advanced experience with Kubernetes monitoring, including Dynatrace OneAgent deployment strategies.

  • Knowledge of Dynatrace host and process grouping, RBAC configuration, and entity management.

  • Ability to design noise-reducing alert strategies using Dynatrace AI (Davis).

  • Strong communication skills to engage stakeholders and understand business and technical requirements.

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to Prometheus, Grafana, AWS CloudWatch monitoring tools.

  • Familiarity with Terraform, GitLab, or other Infrastructure-as-Code frameworks.

  • Background in SRE or platform engineering.

  • Integration experience with collaboration tools such as Slack, Backstage.

  • Observability Embedded in delivery pipelines and Kubernetes deployments.
