About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead with deep expertise in F5 BIG-IP technologies to lead the design, delivery, and support of critical network and application delivery services. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with mentoring, project ownership, and stakeholder engagement.

You will act as a senior technical authority, guiding F5 deployments and migrations while supporting and developing junior engineers within a complex, multi-tenant environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, deployment, upgrade, and migration of F5 BIG-IP platforms, including LTM and GTM/DNS

  • Provide expert-level (3rd line) support for F5 systems, resolving complex incidents and proactively preventing issues

  • Own and drive technical projects end-to-end, coordinating with internal teams and stakeholders to meet delivery milestones

  • Maintain high-quality technical documentation, including network diagrams, configuration standards, and operational procedures

  • Delegate tasks across multiple workstreams, tracking progress and ensuring successful outcomes

  • Mentor and train junior engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement

  • Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex concepts into actionable insights

Key Skills & Experience

  • Advanced, hands-on experience with F5 BIG-IP (LTM and GTM/DNS)

  • Proven experience leading F5-focused technical projects (deployments, upgrades, migrations)

  • Strong troubleshooting and optimisation skills in enterprise-scale environments

  • Experience working with multi-tenant and virtualised platforms, including VIPRION and/or rSeries

  • Good general networking knowledge, including routing and switching

  • Working experience with ACI and Fortigate Firewalls

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience with F5 HSM/FIPS

  • F5 Certifications (eg F5 Certified BIG-IP Administrator or Solution Expert)

  • Additional networking or security certifications
