Wood is recruiting for a Finance Systems Enterprise Architect with a focus on managing all aspects of accounting for the UK region. The role holder is accountable for developing and implementing finance technology architecture to improve reporting speed, accuracy, and insights while reducing costs and supporting business goals.This is a role that can be predominantly remote with attendance at the following UK offices for meetings and reviews: Aberdeen, Reading and Knutsford.Please note applicants must be able to pass HMG Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check. #LI-Hybrid The RoleThe role holder is responsible for ensuring that all Finance technology solutions are designed as a holistic, integrated, scalable and supportable enterprise architecture, delivering consistent financial information, high levels of automation, robust controls and efficient end-to-end business processes. Ensure reliable, secure, resilient, and efficient data flows across the application landscapeEnd-to-End Process Design: Ensure Finance processes are designed holistically across Record-to-Report, Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, Project Accounting, Treasury, Payroll, Tax, Statutory, Management, and Enterprise Performance Management Reporting, eliminating unnecessary manual intervention and process duplicationData Architecture & Master Data: Define and govern Finance data architecture, including ownership, quality standards, reference data, Chart of Accounts, Supplier Master Data, organisational structures, and common data definitions. Ensure the integrity and consistency of master data across all Finance applicationsFinancial Integrity & Controls: Design solutions that preserve the integrity, completeness, and auditability of financial data across all system interfaces, ensuring appropriate controls, reconciliation processes, and segregation of dutiesArchitecture Governance: Establish architecture principles, standards, design patterns, and review processes across all Finance technology projects. Review, modify, and approve solution designs produced by implementation partners and internal teams to ensure compliance with agreed standardsAutomation & Simplification: Identify opportunities to simplify Finance processes through automation, workflow optimisation, standardisation, and elimination of non-value-adding activities, reducing operational effort while improving control, data quality, and speedTechnology Standards: Ensure all Finance solutions are scalable, secure, supportable, and maintainable, minimising customisation wherever practical and promoting configuration over bespoke developmentImplementation Assurance: Provide architectural leadership throughout programme delivery, ensuring solution designs are effectively translated into implementation, testing, deployment, and operational supportVendor & Systems Integrator Management: Provide technical oversight of implementation partners and software vendors, challenging solution proposals where appropriate and ensuring delivery aligns with the Group's architectural standards, commercial objectives, and long-term operating modelRegulatory Compliance: Ensure Finance Systems Architecture supports evolving regulatory requirements, including Making Tax Digital, e-Invoicing, statutory reporting, audit requirements, information security, and data governanceRoadmap Development: Maintain a multi-year Finance Systems roadmap, identifying future enhancements, technical debt reduction opportunities, platform optimisation initiatives, and emerging technologies that support the Group's strategic objectives.
