Role: Control System Engineer
Location: Luton
Salary: Up to 50,000 depending on experience
My client is looking for a Control Systems Engineer will play a key role in delivering bespoke automation solutions for customer projects. The position covers the full lifecycle of a project, from early concept and system design through to software development, and on site commissioning support. The engineer will take responsibility for developing reliable, high performance control solutions across a range of industrial automation platforms.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage automation projects from initial technical concept through to final handover
- Produce electrical and control system designs for automated machinery and equipment
- Develop and implement PLC, motion control, and HMI software to meet project specifications
- Support system integration, factory acceptance testing and on site commissioning.
- Work closely with commissioning and service teams to resolve any technical issues during installation
- Prepare clear technical documentation, including functional descriptions, test reports, and customer deliverables
- Ensure solutions comply with relevant standards, safety requirements, and customer expectations
Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in industrial automation or control systems engineering
- Working knowledge of PLC platforms such as Allen-Bradley and Siemens systems
- Experience with industrial robotics would be advantageous
- Solid understanding of electrical control system principles and modern manufacturing environments
- Knowledge of AutoCAD & and Eplan design packages
