Role: Control System Engineer

Location: Thornaby

Salary: Up to 50,000

We're looking for a talented Control Systems & Software Engineer to join a fast-paced engineering team. You'll be client-facing, taking projects from concept to delivery, and building strong, lasting professional relationships.

Responsibilities:

• Design, program, and commission PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems for a range of applications.
• Develop detailed designs, specifications, and project documentation.
• Support equipment procurement and work closely with production teams.
• Lead start-up, commissioning, and acceptance testing, both in the factory and on-site.
• Deliver project closeout packages and provide after-sales support.
• Travel domestically and internationally for short-term assignments.

Skills and experience:

• Degree in Electrical, or Instrumentation & Controls Engineering (or related).
• Strong PLC/SCADA skills, preferably Siemens TIA Portal.
• Experience with communication protocols like MODBUS, PROFINET.
• Hands on experience with drives, switchgear, and instrumentation.
• Ability to take designs from concept through to delivery.
• Electrical and hydraulic system experience is a bonus.
• Confident communicator, team player, and detail oriented.
