Competitive Salary+ Excellent BenefitsWe are looking for a Principal Data Engineer at Skipton to define the tenets, patterns, and architectural expectations that guide how data is ingested, modelled, governed, and made available across the organisation.You will bring clarity to ambiguous data problems, balance speed with safety, and make decisions that raise the organisational bar.The Principal Data Engineer supports the Senior Data Engineering Leader and Product Owner in the decision making and execution of the team responsibilities in an Azure Environment.Key Criteria:Strong knowledge of:Cloud-native data platforms (e.g., lakehouse, warehouse, streaming systems)Modelling approaches (medallion, dimensional, event-driven, semantic layers)Data governance frameworks and metadata toolingData lineage, cataloguing, discovery, and documentationData quality and observability toolingData access/security patternsSkilled in standardisationcreating reusable data frameworks, templates, modules.People leadership including performance management, wellbeing, and both personal and professional developmentDelivered measurable improvements in data quality, data availability, pipeline reliability, or delivery speed.Experience partnering with governance, cyber, environments, and QE to enable safe, observable, governed data changeFor a confidential conversation about the role, please DM, comment below, or apply via the job ad in the comments for immediate consideration.Unfortunately this role does not offer sponsorship at this time.TPBN1_UKTJ
