Day Rate: £350 per day

About the Role

WRK digital are proud to partner with a leading consultancy working in the tech for good space, supporting the development of crucial applications within healthcare. We are seeking an experienced QA/Test Engineer to join the team on an inside IR35 contract. This role will focus on ensuring quality and reliability during a major cloud migration initiative so experience with applications on AWS with Python would be beneficial.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute test strategies, plans, and test cases for cloud migration projects.
  • Perform functional, regression, system, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Validate application behaviour and data integrity before and after migration.
  • Test cloud infrastructure components including compute, storage, networking, and security configurations.
  • Execute non-functional testing such as performance, scalability, availability, and resilience testing.
  • Support security and compliance testing in cloud environments.
  • Automate test cases where applicable using appropriate testing frameworks and tools.
  • Identify, document, and track defects through to resolution.
  • Collaborate with developers, cloud engineers, and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Support deployment and cutover testing, including smoke and sanity tests.
  • Produce test reports, metrics, and quality dashboards.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a QA/Test Engineer in cloud migration or large-scale transformation projects.
  • Strong knowledge of functional and non-functional testing methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with test automation tools and frameworks.
  • Experience testing across the SDLC working with Python Software Engineers.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and related infrastructure components.
  • Understanding of security and compliance testing in cloud environments.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills in an agile environment.

Desirable

  • Experience working in healthcare or public sector projects.
  • Knowledge of performance testing tools and scripting.
  • ISTQB or similar testing certification.
