Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join a global technology-focused organisation. This is a fully remote role based in the UK, offering the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership across multiple international business units.

You will provide strategic legal guidance across commercial operations, acquisitions, regulatory compliance, and risk management. This role is well suited to a commercially minded lawyer who thrives in a fast-paced, international environment.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Legal Support

• Provide strategic legal advice to senior leaders and operational teams across multiple business units.

• Draft, review and negotiate complex commercial agreements with customers, suppliers and strategic partners.

• Support business development initiatives, acquisitions and post-acquisition integration activities.

• Provide legal support for RFP submissions, bids and strategic commercial transactions.

• Identify and mitigate legal and regulatory risks in business operations.

Contract Management

• Oversee the full contract lifecycle including drafting, negotiation, approvals and documentation.

• Ensure adherence to internal governance frameworks and contract approval processes.

• Provide regular legal reporting and risk updates to senior stakeholders.

Compliance & Regulatory

• Ensure compliance with relevant UK, EU and international legal frameworks.

• Assist with the development and implementation of internal legal policies and governance frameworks.

• Liaise with external advisors and regulators where required.

Disputes & Litigation

• Manage commercial disputes and oversee litigation matters in coordination with external counsel.

• Maintain oversight of legal filings and regulatory obligations where necessary.

Legal Operations & Governance

• Promote best practices through internal training and knowledge sharing.

• Monitor legal and regulatory developments and assess potential impact on the business.

• Contribute to strategic planning and risk management initiatives within the legal function.

Skills & Experience

• Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales (or another UK jurisdiction) with a current practising certificate.

• Extensive experience negotiating and drafting complex software licence agreements is essential. This experience must have been gained within a software, SaaS, telecommunications or technology company.

• Strong background in commercial technology contracts, including SaaS agreements, licensing arrangements, service agreements and strategic commercial partnerships.

• Demonstrated ability to provide pragmatic legal advice to commercial teams within fast-paced technology environments.

• Strong negotiation skills with the ability to balance commercial objectives with legal risk management.

• Experience managing complex legal matters and working with multiple internal and external stakeholders.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Strong commercial awareness, sound judgement and high professional integrity.
