Security Cleared SDET – Java Automation Framework Design
Walter Everett is a specialist recruitment company currently supporting a large global client in the search for an experienced Security Cleared Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with strong expertise in Java automation framework design and testing.
This role is ideal for an engineer with strong object-oriented programming skills who enjoys designing scalable automation frameworks that enable development teams to deliver high-quality software efficiently.
Key responsibilities:
• Design and build automation testing frameworks in Java
• Apply strong OOP principles and design patterns
• Develop reusable frameworks that support developer-led testing
• Automate API and REST-based services
• Integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines
• Work closely with engineering teams to improve quality and test coverage
Technical environment:
Java | Spring / Spring Boot | REST APIs | Automation testing | CI/CD | Modern development tooling
Required experience:
• Active or previous Security Clearance (SC) or higher
• Strong Java development experience
• Proven experience building automation frameworks
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design and software engineering practices
• Experience testing APIs and distributed systems
