Most AI, compliance and wealth companies look like AI, compliance and wealth companies. This one won't.

They're building something different. A company with taste, intensity, originality, and deep care for the industry they serve.

Their new HQ is a converted 150-year-old church in Spitalfields. That says a lot about how they think. They don't want to build a normal company in a normal office with normal ambition.

They're the AI-powered operating system for financial advice. They automate the back office so advisers can spend more time being human.

The problem is simple. Only 8% of the UK gets financial advice, but around 50% want it. Advisers spend most of their time on admin. They're closing that gap. The mission is to reinvent financial infrastructure so wealth and advice services can scale to one billion people. Financial peace of mind should be a right, not a privilege.

YC-backed, $15M Series A, cashflow positive, used by 20%+ of UK advice firms, and already at double-digit million ARR in under 18 months. The crazy part: they've done this with a tiny engineering team. The founding engineers came from Cred, Postman, Gojek, and Slice. Now they're hiring two more.

How they work

  1. Move with direction, urgency and discipline
  2. Make complexity feel simple
  3. Build with bank-grade trust
  4. Stay close to the domain and the user
  5. Think clearly, write it down and share context
  6. Own outcomes and raise the bar together
  7. Stay obsessive

What's in it for you?

  • Tight, in-person team. Six engineers today, eight after these hires, building together every day with no plans to scale much beyond that.
  • One of London's most distinctive offices. A converted 150-year-old church in Spitalfields. Five days a week, in person, plus rare invite-only events hosted at notable academics' homes.
  • Quarterly salary and equity reviews. The CEO has taken people from £80k to £180k inside a year where the slope has justified it.
  • Polyglot engineers wanted. Go, TypeScript or Python. Deep LLM and RAG integration in user-facing features.
  • Direct line to a founder-led commercial engine reinventing financial infrastructure.

About the roles

They're hiring top engineers who want to build with taste, speed and care. Two seats, same team, distinct flavours. Both roles share the foundation. Stack is Go, TypeScript and Python with LLMs and RAG integrated throughout.

You will work directly with Product, Design, and embedded chartered compliance officers and paraplanners. This is not a ticket-processing role. The team is intentionally moving away from rigid front-end, back-end, and QA silos. Manual QA is being deliberately replaced with automated testing. Live projects include real-time meeting capture and transcription pipelines, letter of authority orchestration, pension transfer review automation, and an FCA Consumer Duty compliance policy engine.

  1. Member of Technical Staff (platform-leaning) You care about scalability, reliability, and the engine room. You will own systems end-to-end and own the foundations the rest of the product relies on. Stronger back-end or platform depth, with full-stack breadth.
  2. Product Engineer (speed-leaning) You care about velocity and shipping. You will sit close to the GTM team, pull pain points out of recent customer calls and build against them. Stronger product instincts, faster iteration cycle, more UI surface area.

Must-haves (both roles):

  • Senior product engineer or staff-level engineer with strong full-stack capability. Open to slightly more junior candidates if the trajectory is clearly there to reach staff inside three months.
  • Background in a startups or scale-ups
  • Comfort working from customer pain points rather than tickets.
  • Hands-on LLM or AI integration experience in user-facing features.
  • Genuinely keen to work five days onsite in London.

Role-specific:

  • MTS: stronger back-end or platform foundations, systems thinking.
  • Product Engineer: stronger product instincts, track record of owning features end-to-end.

Bonus points:

  • AWS familiarity. No GCP or Azure planned.
  • Platform competence alongside back-end.
  • Fintech, regulated industries, or compliance-heavy workflow experience.
  • Founding or early-stage hire at a high-growth startup.

If reinventing financial infrastructure sounds like your kind of thing, message me. Let me know which seat.
