Artificial Intelligence Engineer- Agents

SENIOR AI AGENT ENGINEER London, UK (Hybrid) |

Cybersecurity is broken. Too many tools, too many alerts, not enough signal, and most businesses don't have the headcount to deal with any of it.

Our client is fixing that with AI agents that actually think, act, and respond. They need someone to help build them.

This is an early hire at a London-based AI cybersecurity company that has already earned customer trust, industry recognition, and international accelerator backing. The platform is live, the customers are real, and the next chapter is about making the AI smarter, faster, and more autonomous. That's where you come in.

The Role

As Senior AI Agent Engineer you will own the systems that make the platform intelligent. That means building and shipping AI agents capable of detecting threats, correlating data across endpoints, cloud, email and user behaviour, classifying sensitive information, and triggering automated responses - all in production, all the time.

This is not a research role. You will be close to the product, close to customers, and expected to take full ownership of what you build from design through to deployment and iteration.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Designing and building AI agent systems for threat detection, behavioural correlation, sensitive data classification, and automated security response
  • Developing and fine-tuning LLMs and ML models that run reliably in production
  • Building and curating the high-quality datasets that train and evaluate those models
  • Owning MLOps: versioning, monitoring, evaluation pipelines, and deployment tooling
  • Iterating on model performance using platform telemetry and direct customer feedback
  • Working closely with engineers and security experts to make sure AI outputs are well-integrated and explainable
  • Contributing to the agentic architecture as the platform evolves toward fully autonomous response

What We're Looking For

You'll need a strong quantitative foundation a degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or similar, with a postgraduate qualification a plus.

Beyond that:

  • Demonstrable experience shipping AI or ML systems to a live production environment
  • Solid Python across the core stack: Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, and PyTorch or TensorFlow
  • Real hands-on experience with LLMs — fine-tuning, prompt engineering, agentic orchestration
  • A working understanding of MLOps: you don't just build models, you keep them healthy
  • Cloud experience - AWS is ideal (S3, EC2, Athena, EMR), Azure or GCP also relevant
  • NLP knowledge applied to real classification or detection problems
  • The communication skills to explain what your models are doing and why, to engineers and non-technical stakeholders alike

Bonus if you have worked in cybersecurity domains (DLP, PII detection, anomaly detection), have built multi-step reasoning systems, or have spent time directly with customers understanding a problem domain.

Why Apply?

The category is real, the product is live, and the timing is right. You will have genuine ownership of core AI systems, direct access to the founding team, and equity that reflects your place as an early hire. If you are the type of engineer who wants to see their work in the world, and wants it to actually do something useful, this is a good fit.
