Sales Director - IoT Manufacturing
Overview:
A leading global digital engineering and consulting organisation is seeking an experienced Industry Sales Director / Business Development Leader to drive growth across the Manufacturing sector. This role is focused on selling high-value IoT, Digital Engineering, Product Engineering, and Smart Manufacturing solutions to enterprise clients.
The successful individual will bring a strong blend of consulting sales leadership, technical credibility, and industry insight, with experience spanning automotive, aerospace & defence, industrial machinery, heavy engineering, and chemical manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and grow market presence as a strategic transformation partner across Product Engineering, R&D, Digital Manufacturing, IT-OT, and Industry 4.0 services
- Lead strategic consulting sales initiatives, shaping and closing large, complex deals
- Acquire new enterprise clients and expand existing accounts through cross-sell and up-sell
- Develop and execute sector-focused growth and advisory strategies
- Partner with global sales, consulting, and delivery teams to build differentiated value propositions
- Collaborate with leading technology and industry partners to deliver integrated digital solutions
- Drive thought leadership through industry events, publications, and executive-level engagements
Essential Experience:
- Extensive background in consulting sales, pre-sales, and solution shaping within manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of Product Design & Engineering, Digital Engineering, Smart Manufacturing, and Software-Driven Products
- Proven success engaging with C-suite and senior leadership across business and IT
- Demonstrated ability to build and convert pipeline, shape large deals, and deliver revenue growth
- Experience working within matrix organisations and global delivery models
- Exposure to IT-OT convergence, Edge-to-Cloud, Digital Twins, and Connected Enterprises
Partner & Ecosystem Experience:
- Proven collaboration with major industrial and technology partners (e.g. PLM, automation, hyperscalers, AI and digital manufacturing ecosystems)
Education & Career Background:
- Degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline
- Typically 15+ years’ experience, including 5+ years in senior consulting or enterprise sales roles within discrete manufacturing
