Are you an experienced Azure PaaS Architect looking to work on large-scale, high-impact cloud transformation programmes?
We're partnering with a major UK organisation operating at national scale to find a skilled Azure PaaS Technical Architect to help modernise critical digital services across scheduling, delivery, and customer engagement platforms.
This role offers the opportunity to design and deliver cloud-native, enterprise-grade solutions using Microsoft Azure PaaS technologies, working on complex systems that support millions of users across the UK.
The Role:
As an Azure PaaS Technical Architect, you will be responsible for leading the design and delivery of scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutions. You'll play a hands-on architectural role while also providing technical leadership across engineering and DevOps teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing end-to-end Azure PaaS architectures for application migration and modernisation
- Assessing legacy/on-premise environments and defining cloud migration strategies
- Translating business and technical requirements into robust solution designs
- Implementing Azure services including App Services, Azure Functions, API Management, Azure SQL, Service Bus, and related components
- Working closely with development and DevOps teams to enable CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code
- Ensuring best practices across security, scalability, performance, and cost optimisation
- Providing technical leadership, guidance, and mentoring to delivery teams
About You:
Essential experience:
- Proven experience delivering Azure cloud migration and modernisation projects
- Strong background in .NET Core, Angular, and SQL
- Deep understanding of Azure IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS services
- Hands-on experience with Azure App Services, Functions, Logic Apps, API Management, Azure SQL
- Experience designing microservices and API-led architectures
- Solid knowledge of Azure networking, identity, monitoring, and security
- Experience using Azure Migrate and related tooling
- Strong Infrastructure as Code experience (ARM, Bicep, or similar)
Desirable:
- Azure certifications (e.g. AZ-305, AZ-104)
- Experience with Azure DevOps and automated deployment pipelines
- Strong understanding of Azure security best practices, including IAM and RBAC
- Excellent stakeholder communication and collaboration skills
